War Memorial Tellin

The memorial to the victims of the First and Second World War stands in front of the church of Tellin.

At the top is a bust of King Knight Albert I and below a cross between palm branches.
On the column:

Underneath a relief of a lion slaying the eagle.

Below the relief are 2 more plates:
Glory to all our heroes, glory to all our martyrs
glory to all who have made Belgium immortal.
It is for her that they died bravely
let us live as they died to remain worthy of her "

The Tir National was a shooting range and military training complex in Schaerbeek (Brussels) where civilians, prisoners and resistance fighters were executed during the 2 world wars.
