Resistance Memorial Society De Vrijheid 1945

On November 7, 2020, a resistance monument was unveiled in Schiedam on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Society de Vrijheid 1945 in Schiedam.
This Society was founded in 1945 by members of the Domestic Armed Forces to which hostages from Schiedam, who had been detained in St Michielsgestel, joined.
Later, others could join as well, provided they were of impeccable conduct.

Text on the plaque:
In memory of all those who revolted against the occupier in Schiedam during the war years 1940-1945, many of whom gave their lives.
