Memorial Stone Corporal Geury

Corporal Geury was the first killed Belgian soldier. He belonged to the 1st regiment frontier – cyclists. On the morning of May 10, 1940, he died from his machine gun on the railway viaduct while covering the withdrawal of his men.

Geury is buried in the Saint-Walburge cemetery in Liège.
