Villa Vogelsangh Groesbeek

Presumably HQ 3/505 PIR, 82nd A/B. The name of the villa was not in the reports, but an old photo shows that there was a guard in front of the villa.

On 17 September 1944, during the famous airborne landings of the 82nd Airborne Division, photographer Jaap Beijnes took several poignant photos of the paratroopers who entered the village of Groesbeek and liberated it.
During the dark years of World War II, Petronella Dozy wrote a poignant war diary in this villa. Her personal account of her wartime experiences offers a profound insight into those turbulent times.
