At the Weerscheut in Vinkel, a monument has been erected along the road since May 2022 for the 7-man crew of an English Short Stirling bomber that crashed there on July 23, 1942. The plane was on its way to Duisburg, but was intercepted and shot down over Oss by the German occupier.
