Camp Joseph T. Robinson

Camp Joseph T. Robinson was established in 1941 as an Army tent camp. This camp was built in the area of Camp Pike, which was a World War I cantonment. Shortly after its creation, wooden barracks were added. Robinson was one of the first new types of army camps and was a role model for other future army bases. The base has been used for training infantry divisions, including the 35th Infantry Division. Robinson also had a small POW camp.
