Memorial Michael Lucas

In memory of Sub Lieutenant (A) John Michael Lucas RNVR who died 12 August 1942 age 21. Commemorated on Lee on Solent Memorial Bay 4 Panel 1.

Michael was the nephew of Captain Ferdinand Reiss and his wife Phyllis who owned Tintinhull House during WW11 and donated it to the National Trust. Phyllis designed the garden and incorporated a memorial in the Pool Garden.
Michael Lucas was serving onboard HMS Indomitable during Operation Pedestal (re supply convoy to Malta) when his Sea Hurricane was shot down.
