WHO WAS WRECKED IN H.M.SHIP ST GEORGE 98 GUNS.
ON THE COAST OF JUTLAND. DEC 21TH 1811 AGED 23.
WHEN ONLY SIX MEN WERE SAVED FROM A CREW OF 730.

Colonel Colin Harding CMG, DSO
of this Parish
Born 15 August 1864. Died 3 Jan 1939
A faithful servant of his country."
Served and fought in Matabeleland in 1894 and Mashonaland in 1895. Rhodesia in 1898 and Gold Coast in 1909. Whilst on leave in England in August 1914, he helped raise the 2nd King Edwards Horse and went to France with them in 1915 and served there until invalided out in 1916 when he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order.
