Crashlocation De Havilland Mosquito B.XVI RV326

During the night of March 27th/28th, 1945, two De Havilland Mosquito aircraft, RV326 and MM202 collided with each other near the place of Zevenhuizen in Groningen, the Netherlands, near the border with Drenthe, the Netherlands. The MM202 was damaged but able to reach England, but the RV326 with crewmembers pilot Leicester Georg Smith and navigator William Lane was severely damaged and crashed burining. The remains of the aircraft came down over a large area of over 400 meters length arond the Commissiebos near the border between Groningen and Drenthe in the communities of Zevenhuizen, Groningen and Roden, Drenthe. Both crew members passed away in the crash and were buried in Zevenhuizen. Beceause parts of the aircraft were dispersed over a great area, the location is given approximately.
