Monument US Soldier Barchon

This monument commorates and is in honor of the first American soldier who was killed at Barchon.

He was killed in action on September 10th 1944, at the liberation of the town of Barchon. The street the monument is located is named after Lieutenant Jungling who was the Commander of the nearby fort Barchon.

The text on the monument:

A la mémoire du premier soldat Américain tue a la liberation de Barchon le 10 Sep re 1944 a 10 h.

La population reconnaissante.

In memory of the first American Soldier, died at the liberation of Barchon on September 10th at 10 houres.
