Monument Victims Spanish Civil War La Almudena

The huge Nuestra Señora de Almudena cemetery contains several monuments that commemorate the Spanish Civil War. This monument, created by Fernando Sánchez Castillo, commemorates all residents of Madrid who were victims of violence between 1936 and 1944 for political and ideological reasons and because of their religious beliefs. Peace, Mercy and Forgiveness!

The monument originally contained the names of the victims, but after various destructions these were replaced by this general text.
