Memorial St. Michael's Church Kortrijk

On the façade, to the right of the entrance, hangs a memorial plaque for the protection that Our Lady of Groeninge offered to the people of Kortrijk during the First World War.
It is a rectangular bronze plaque in high relief in bluestone frame, designed by Valentijn Vaerewyck (architect) and executed by Fonderie d'Art, Minne Frères (Ghent).

The bronze plaque depicts a procession carrying the statue of Our Lady, followed by a bishop and surrounded by choirboys and children with garlands.

Underneath the text :
"Kortryk grateful to Our Lady
Groeninghe for her protection
during the Great War of 1914 – 1918 "
