Mechelen Citizens Memorial

This building used to house the Academy and later a technical school.
Crescendo is currently located there, a campus for second-chance education

On the right, next to the stairs at the entrance, there is a long wall with various figures in relief.
This beautiful sculpture is by Ernest Wijnants, a Mechelen artist.

On the left hangs a memorial plaque with the Mechelen coat of arms at the top: "In fide constans" (steadfast in the faith) and below it the text:

"During the Second World War, many Mechelen citizens gave their lives for freedom. This building was erected to honor their memory and their sacrifice.
It will contribute to providing in-depth professional knowledge and thus grant greater freedom to future generations"
