Hochbunker Riesenfeldstraße Munich

The Hochbunker Riesenfeldstraße is a bunker built in 1941. The standalone five-story round tower with a flat roof and anti-aircraft gun platform was constructed in 1941 according to the plans of Karl Meitinger from the construction company Gebrüder Rank at the former Oberwiesenfeld airport. It is identical to the Hochbunker Lerchenauer Straße, but the cladding here is executed in visible brickwork. The bunker provided space for 448 people for protection.

In 2001, a 35-meter-high air exhaust chimney for the Petuel tunnel was added to the bunker. The Hochbunker is currently used by the construction department of Munich for the maintenance of the air exhaust chimney.
