Marker Voie de la Liberté

This is one of the markers of Liberty Road (Voie de la Liberté), the route taken by the Allies from Normandy through France to Bastogne. There is a marker (borne) every kilometre, and the route passes through a large number of places.

Plaque on marker:

‘Dedicated to the brave and gallant men of the U.S. troops who fought for the liberation of our village’.
'501-506 PIR' (Parachute Infantry Regiment 101 Airborne Division)
