Farm "De Weezenhof"

The farm was built in 1911 by order of the Roman Catholic orphanage in Nijmegen and is located on the Staddijk, the former street Vossendijk.

In May 1940, the farm was set up as a so-called "aid post" or a wounded nest for the defense area of the 2st company 1st battalion 26th infantry regiment. This unit had been assigned this part of the Maas-Waal Canal to defend in May 1940.

Wounded people could be transported from this aid post by means of a stretcher or wounded car to an aid station located in the village of Wijchen. An aid station was located approximately 2 kilometers behind the defense line of each regiment.
