These brass plaques (Stolpersteine or stumbling stones), placed on 23-09-2024, commemorate:

* AMALIA SOPHIA CAHEN (born 1905, deported 18-05-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 21-05-1943, Sobibor).
* FROUKTJE VAN ZAND (born 1887, deported 18-05-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 21-05-1943, Sobibor).
* LEVIE EMANUEL FRUITMAN (born 1876, deported 18-05-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 21-05-1943, Sobibor).
* MAURITS VAN GELDEREN (born 1888, deported 18-05-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 21-05-1943, Sobibor).
* BETJE ROZEVELT-DE VRIES (born 1891, deported 25-05-1943, from Westerbork, murdered 28-05-1943, Sobibor).

These Stolpersteine lie here for Jewish psychiatric patients/war victims persecuted, deported and murdered in World War II.

"Stolpersteine" is an art project for Europe by Gunter Demnig to commemorate victims of National Socialism (Nazism). Stolpersteine (stumbling stones) are small, 10x10cm brass plaques placed in the sidewalk in front of the last voluntary residence of (usually Jewish) victims of the Nazis. Each plaque is provided with the victim�s, date of birth, and fate. By doing this, Gunter Demnig gives an individual memorial to each victim. One stone, one name, one person. He cites the Talmud: one human being is forgotten only when his or her name is forgotten.
