Monument to fallen soldiers coming from Jalhay

In the Jalhay cemetery there is a monument commemorating the fallen soldiers from Jalahy.

Commemorated from the 1st World War

BREUWER Joseph, 26 years old, from Jalhay, sergeant in the 13th line regiment, killed in action in Oud-Stuivekenskerke on October 25, 1914.

CROISIER François, 27 years old, from Jalhay, soldier with the 13th linieregiment, died by accident (bullet in neck and head) at Alveringem on August 3, 1918.

DEBERG Simon, aged 20, from Jalhay, private of the 6th linieregiment, killed in action at Haacht on August 26, 1914.

DELHAVEE Hubert, 27 years old, born in Jalhay, soldier with the 12th linieregiment, killed during a reconnaissance at Kapelle-op-den-Bos on September 29, 1914 and missing since then.

PAROTTE Jules, 30 years old, born in Jalhay, soldier in the 1st regiment Artillerie Lourd (heavy artillery), died at Besneville (France) of jaundice.

PAULY Prosper, 26 years old, born in Jalhay, sergeant of the National Guard on horseback, died at Marck (France) on May 3, 1916 by suicide (gunshot in the right temple).

LEGRAS René, 22 years old, born in Jalhay, corporal in the 13th linieregiment, died after the war in Jalhay on February 3, 1919 from kidney disease.

DARIMONT Emile (Edouard), 46 years old, born in Jalhay, resistance fighter of the Armée Secret, killed during the liberation of Liège on September 7, 1944

DARIMONT René, age 23, from Jalhay, resistent of the Armée Secret, executed near the Citadelle of Liège on May 5, 1943.

DERECOGNE René, 30 years old, born in Jalhay, soldier with the 1st Regiment Grenswielrijders, killed at Philippeville on May 13, 1940.

RAWAY Albert, died in Andrimont on August 16, 1952, no further details known.
