Memorial Garden Maidstone

"Rocky Hill Memorial Garden
This garden was replanted in November 2010.
It commemorates the links with The Royal Engineers and
The Queen's Gurkha Engineers based in Maidstone, and
the recent conflicts in which they fought.
A number of plants with symbolic importance and
interest have been planted. These include
Laurus Nobilis (Bay Laurel) from The Royal Engineers cap badge, and
Rhodedendron (Scarlet Wonder) the national flower of Nepal, and
Tulipa biflora that grows in the wild in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Red celebrates the Gurkha regiments and English roses"
