Holy Name Chapel, also known as the Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment Chapel contains Regimental Books of Remembrance, Ensigns, Standards and a memorial window dedicated to the Regiment.
The Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment was formed on 1 July 1881 by the amalgamation of the 50th (Queen's Own) Regiment of Foot (formed in 1755) and 97th (The Earl of Ulster's) Regiment of Foot (formed in 1824).
In 1961 the regiment was amalgamated with the Buffs (Royal East Kent Regiment and in 1966 merged with The Queen's Royal Surrey Regt, the Royal Sussex Regt and Middlesex Regiment to form the Queen's Regt which in turn amalgamated with the Royal Hampshire Regt to form the Princess of Wale's Royal Regt (Queen's and Royal Hampshire)
