Memorial Wilhelm Frede

This stone commemorates Wilhelm Frede, a German diplomat who was appointed vice consul of the Netherlands in Kleve. As a Catholic, he was a staunch opponent of National Socialism. He was arrested in 1942 and murdered in the Sachsenhausen concentration camp on March 19, 1942.
