War Memorial Aartselaar

This monument in the cemetery commemorates the military and civilian victims from Aartselaar during the First and Second World Wars.

It consists of two masonry columns with stone plaques between them in which the names of the victims are inscribed. On the pillars are the following inscriptions:

( "Homage/ to those/ who fell/ for monarch-folk/ and/ fatherland/ who gives/ his blood/ for the right/ has the right/ to the highest/ good") (left)

and

("Because they/ have the right/ to life/ and ye are not/ called/ to share/ their fate/ know/ at least/ them/ to remember/ in your/ prayers") (right).
