Former German Regimental Headquarters
This site was the original Regimental Headquarters of the German Kommandantur, who commanded the 919th Genadier Regiment, part of the 907the Static Infantry Division from 1942 to 1944.
Almost four years before the D-Day landings, this building was essential for managing the occupied zone for coastal defences and fortification within the organisation Todt for the Utah Beach Sector.
After the village was liberated on June 6, 1944, by the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army, this building served as the temporary command post for many Allied units until the end of the war.
The property houses The Greatest GENERATIONS Foundation, dedicated to preserving the legacy of our nation's veterans with dignity and honor. Through impactful programs and heartfelt remembrance—we ignite a lasting flame of gratitude in the hearts of future generations. Their bravery shaped our freedom; now, it's our duty to ensure their legacy lives on.
