Ramparts Bastion Nieuwpoort

After the disastrous year of 1672, the ramparts, moat, and bastions were built to protect Nieuwpoort from the enemy. Along with Schoonhoven, Nieuwpoort formed a key part of the Old Dutch Waterline.
The ramparts and the surrounding moats enclose the fortified town.
