Hembrug Museum

The Hembrug Museum in Zaandam tells the story of the former arms and ammunition factory. From the late 19th century until 2003, this site served as the military logistics center for the Defence Line of Amsterdam.

In two former transformer houses, you'll discover objects, photos, films, and stories that reveal the secretive nature of Hembrug. The presentation offers an overview of the 43-hectare site, the production processes in the factories, and the connection to the railway bridge and defense line.

From April to November, guided tours are offered every first Sunday of the month. A guide will take you through this hidden corner of Holland, concluding with coffee or tea at Artzaanstad.

For current visiting hours, please visit the website of the museum.
