Stelling van Amsterdam - Waiting Room Gun Powder Magazine Kadoelen

The former gunpowder magazine for the Navy was located north of the current Landsmeerderdijk, at the intersection with Kadoelenweg. In 1879, the brick magazine was built at Post number 2 in Kadoelen, then part of the municipality of Landsmeer. It was equipped with a fence, a jetty on Zijkanaal I, and a narrow-gauge railway line. An older guardhouse was preserved and enlarged.

In 1891, a new brick guardroom was built, which was still used by officers of the Marechaussee in 1940. Today, it has been converted into three houses.

In 1925, the site was sold and later used by the H.T. Kiekens fan factory, which manufactured casemate components in the 1930s. The warehouse disappeared in the 1980s. After the factory closed in 2001, the site became abandoned.
