The liberation of Kekerdom

The liberation of Kekerdom took place during World War II, when Allied forces freed the village in 1944 during the Battle of the Betuwe. After heavy fighting and shelling, the Germans retreated and the villagers were gradually able to return to their heavily damaged homes.
