Memorial 11 September 1944 Opglabbeek

On 11 September 1944, the Germans executed six innocent civilians at this location.
The execution was in retaliation for retreating German troops, who had earlier that day engaged in a combat with resistance fighters in Louwel.
Seven resistance fighters were killed in that conflict. Their names are also mentioned on this memorial.
