Warmemorial Beyne-Heusay

In the old cemetery of Beyne-Heusay, there is a monument to the soldiers from this village who lost their lives.

Commemorated are:

CRINE Jean, no further details known

FELIX Albert, war volunteer, corporal with the 14th Line Regiment, killed in action on March 10, 1918, in Oostnieuwkerke.

GIESHELMAN Jean, age 34, from Beyne-Heusay, soldier with the 42nd Line Regiment, died of wounds on May 25, 1940, in Berck-sur-Mer (France), reburied in Beyne-Heusay on June 19, 1947.

JACQUEMIN Jean, age 33, from Beyne-Heusay, soldier with the 8th Line Regiment, died of pneumonia (possibly Spanish flu) in captivity in Düsseldorf on July 14, 1918. His remains were transferred to Belgium in 1923, after which he was laid to rest in the cemetery of Beyne-Heusay.
