During the May days of 1940, starting around 6:30 a.m. on May 11, 1940, the command post of the 2nd Division, 22nd Artillery Regiment, was established in this farmhouse.
This unit had previously been stationed in the IJzendoorn area. The command post was moved from the IJzendoorn rectory to this farmhouse on May 11, 1940.
On May 14, 1940, around 12:15 a.m., the last units left their positions. Heavy fire continued until the very last moment on Rhenen, De Grebbeberg, and Opheusden.
