This elongated brass plaque (Stolperschwelle or stumbling threshold), which was laid on 29-01-2025, commemorates:
the deportation of tens of thousands of Jews who were transported from there. The Stolperschwelle emphasises that the Amsterdam Municipal Tramway was used for the deportations and serves as a reminder of the complicity of the city and the GVB in the Nazi persecution.
