Memorial 16th Newcastle Battalion
On the right-hand side of the church entrance hangs this plaque in honor of the officers, non-commissioned officers, and men of the 16th Newcastle Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. In early 1916, this unit occupied the trenches in Authuille and bravely attacked the defensive lines at Thiepval. Next to the church is also a bench in honor of this unit.
