Memorial 4th November 1944 Royal Palace Het Loo

In 1944 the northern paviljon of the Royal Stables at Palace Het Loo in use by SS-forces. The 181th Squadron, Royal Air Force, was assigned to bombard this complex on 4th November 1944. Twelve Hawker Typhoon planes of the Squadron, included the Dutch pilot R.J.E.M. van Zinnicq Bergmann, accomplished the bombardment. The entire northern paviljon was destroyed by this precision bombardment and was never rebuild. To comemmorate the outcoming of the book "Het doel bereikt" (Goal accomplished) of Van Zinnicq Bergmann, a plaque was placed on the wall of the stables complex.
The text on the plaque reads:

PRINS BERNHARD DER NEDERLANDEN."
