Memorial of the "Battle by the Isabellasluis"

The monument is a pedestal of bricks, here is a plaque with the following text:
In commemoration of the battle at the Isabellasluis
By the "Algonquin Regiment 'from Canada - 1944

Here fought the ‘Algonquin Regiment' one of the
infantry regiments of the Canadian 4th Armoured Division,
at the Isabellasluis and the small Isabellapolder.
After Philippine was liberated by them on September 21, 1944,
there was constant heavy battle from September 22 to October 14
1944 at the expense of many young lives.

This plaque is placed here after 50 years
in memory of their heroic struggle,
because they may never be forgotten.
