Fort bij Spijkerboor

Fort bij Spijkerboor is one of the largest forts in the Defence Line of Amsterdam. The fort was opened in 1913 and was mobilized in 1914-1918. In May 1940 the fort was also manned.

The fort has two floors and includes many original elements such as the kitchen, telephone, generator room and murals of many prisoners. It is the only fort that still has the original turret with a two loops 10.5 cm Krupp quick-firing gun, which were removed from other forts during the Second World War. Furthermore, in addition to exhibits about other eras, there is a collection of World War II consisting of 22 dolls, utensils and three dioramas.
