Commonwealth War Grave Protestant Churchyard Molkwerum

The Protestant Churchyard in Molkwerum contains one Commonwealth burial.
This is the grave of:

Flight Lieutenant (Pilot) Thomas Fraser McCrorie, 68770, RAF 75 Sqdn.,
Died at 23-06-1943, age 27.

On 22 June 1943 at 2348 departed from RAF Newmarket, Stirling EH889 with the mission: a bombing raid over the city of Mülheim, Germany. The aircraft was shot down over the Netherlands by the German night-fighter Oblt. Lothar Linke, 1V./NJG1. After that it crashed at 0026 into the IJsselmeer. All seven crew members died in the crash. One is buried in this cemetery, the other crew members are buried in Medemblik, Middenmeer and Makkum. The other two crew members were never recovered.
