Commonwealth War Graves Municipal Cemetery Franeker

At the Municipal Cemetery in Franeker are three Commonwealth War Graves.
There is a grave of an unknown RCAF airman, he died on 13 July 1942.

There is one crew member of the Halifax bomber W1179:

Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.) John Robertson Rennie, 1057117, RAF 158 Sqdn., died at 20-07-1942, age 22

On 19 July 1942 at 2343 departed from RAF East Moor, the Halifax W1179 with the mission: a bombing raid at the U-boat docks in Bremen-Vegesack. The unit crashed down for unknown reasons in the Waddenzee. All crew members were killed in the crash. One of them is buried in this cemetery. The others are buried in

There is also one crew member of the Lockheed Hudson bomber AM878:

Flight Sergeant (W.Op./Air Gnr.) Bruce Wilbert Weaver, R/67233, RCAF 407 Sqdn., died at 18-04-1942, age 21

On 18 April 1942 departed from RAF Bircham Newton, the Lockheed Hudson AM878 of Coastal Command with the mission: a bombing raid on German ships at the Dutch coast. The aircraft crashed down for unknown reasons into the Waddenzee. The entire crew was killed. One crew member is buried here, the other crew members are in Hallum and Jonkerbos, Nijmegen. Two crew members were never recovered.
