Memorial Liberation Ouistreham

This memorial remembers the liberation of Ouistreham on 6 June 1944. On the other side of the memorial is a plaque in memory of the French commandos with following text:

MORTS POUR LA LIBERATION
DE NOTRE TERRITOIRE
LE 6 JUIN 1944

The translation of the text:
IN REMEMBRANCE

DIED FOR THE LIBERATION
OF OUR LAND
