Memorial Former House of Detention Groningen

This memorial is located in the former Detention Center in Groningen. It commemorates the political prisoners who were held here during the German occupation years 1940 - 1945.

The stone was unveiled on July 12, 1947 by the Queen's Adjutant during that period. There are 2 pictures of the unveiling and a shield of the N.V.E.P.G (Dutch Association for Ex Political Prisoners).

The memorial also includes a white urn with ashes of victims from concentration camps in Germany, 1940 - 1945.
