Major Lodewijk Willlem Johan Karel Thomson, born in Voorschoten, June 11, 1869 and deceased in Durres / Durazzo (Albania) on 15 June 1914. He was a Dutch military commander and politician. He is best known as the first Dutch soldier who was killed on a peace mission.
