Dutch War Graves Zuiderbegraafplaats

On the Southern Cemetery in Groningen are 33 Dutch war graves from World War II.

Major Lodewijk Willlem Johan Karel Thomson, born in Voorschoten, June 11, 1869 and deceased in Durres / Durazzo (Albania) on 15 June 1914. He was a Dutch military commander and politician. He is best known as the first Dutch soldier who was killed on a peace mission.
