Dutch War Graves Rozenburg

Rozenburg Cemetery contains one Dutch war grave from World War II.

D. van den Beukel died in a bombing raid on March 31, 1945 in Brandenburg.
He was put to work as a forced laborer.
In 1948 he was reburied at Rozenburg.

Mission 85 was a bombing flight on August 19, 1943.
The flight had as its target, among other things, German airfields in the Netherlands, in this case Gilzee-Rijen and Woensdrecht.
More than 30 B-17 bombers dropped their load on the Gilze-Rijen airfield.
More than 1000 bombs (incendiary and explosive) fell north of the airfield.
The village of Hulten was badly hit and the train that was passing north of Hulten at that moment did not escape the rain of bombs.
A total of 23 fatalities in the vicinity of the village.
Marechaussee Quak was a passenger on the train and was probably fatally hit on the train.
