Trenches Monte Sief

Monte Sief is connected to the Col di Lana by a narrow pass. After the Col di Lana was lost after the mine explosion of 17 April 1916, the Austrians pulled back on to Monte Sief and right next to the Summit, the Austrians blew the pass on 21 November 1917 with a mine of 45,000 pounds of explosive. This mine took a whole bite out of this mountain which is still very clear to see. This mountain is only accessible by a walk of at least 4 hours.
