Stumbling Stones Kielortallee 22

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Bela Brager (born 1940, murdered in Minsk)
Martha Brager (born 1877, murdered in Minsk)
Frieda Brager (born 1916, murdered in Sobibor)
Werner Brager (born 1922, murdered in Minsk)
Siegmund Brager (born 1911, murdered in Minsk)
Liesel Brager (born 1914, murdered in Minsk)
Heinrich Herbst (born 1868, murdered in Treblinka)
Karoline Herbst (born 1868, murdered in Treblinka)
Helene Horwitz (born 1867, murdered in Theresienstadt on 1-4-1943)
Manuel Neugarten (born 1885, murdered in Minsk)
Herta Neugarten (born 1897, murdered in Minsk)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
