Stumbling Stones Rappstraße 10

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Alfred Behrens (born 1935, murdered in Lodz)
Werner Behrens (born 1910, murdered)
Sophie Behrens (born 1913, murdered in Lodz)
Uri Behrens (born 1938, murdered in Lodz)
Georg Brauer (born 1889, murdered in Auschwitz)
Bertha Brauer (born 1899, murdered in Flossenbürg)
Günther Brauer (born 1925, murdered in Dachau-Kaufering on 26-12-1944)
Moses Abraham Petrover (born 1878, murdered in Lodz)
Friederike Petrover (born 1879, murdered in Lodz)
Melitta Petrover (born 1911, murdered in Lodz)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
