Stumbling Stones Rappstraße 13

These memorial stones (so called Stolpersteine of stumbling blocks) commemorate:
Frieda Hoffmann (born 1899, murdered in Minsk)
Ruth Bieber (born 1931, murdered in Minsk)
Hans-Adolf Frankenthal (born 1925, murdered in Auschwitz)
Siegfried Frankenthal (born 1897, murdered in Theresienstadt on 3-5-1945)
Hans Hoffmann (born 1892, murdered in Minsk in juli 1942)
Walter Hoffmann (born 1930, murdered in Minsk)
Heimann Horwitz (born 1867, murdered in Theresienstadt on 25-12-1944)
Minna Lazarus (born 1878, murdered in Theresienstadt on 13-3-1943)
Hanna Offenburg (born 1884, murdered in Auschwitz)
Nathan Hirsch Offenburg (born 1866, murdered in Theresienstadt on 11-5-1943)
Irmgard Posner (born 1904, murdered in Minsk)
Karl Posner (born 1904, murdered in Flossenbürg)

The small brass plaques, in the pavement in front of houses of which the (mostly Jewish) residents were persecuted or murdered by the Nazis, mention the name, date of birth and place (mostly a concentration camp) and date of death.

In many other cities, mainly in Germany but also in other European countries, the memorials also can be found. There are already many thousands of these plaques and their number is still counting. Almost all Stolpersteine are laid by the German artist himself, Gunter Demnig.
