Memorials Regiment Infantry Oranje Gelderland

The Regiment Infanterie Oranje Gelderland originated from the Fifth and Eighth Infantry Regiments respectively. At the Johannes Post Barracks in Darp, where the current 45th Painfbat Oranje Gelderland is stationed, a number of monuments commemorate the efforts of-and losses suffered by-the Regiment and its predecessors in the past.

Monument to the 233 soldiers of 8 RI killed in action during the fierce fighting for Grebbeberg in May 1940.

Monument for the 37 soldiers killed in action during deployment as 5.5. RI on Java between 1947 and 1950.

Monument for the 9 soldiers killed in action during the deployment of 6 battalions Oranje Gelderland in New Guinea between 1960 and 1962.

Monument to 47 soldiers killed during the regiment's deployment as part of the Troop Force in Suriname (TRIS) between 1945 and 1975.

Monument to the 2 fallen soldiers of the battalion during the 2008 peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
