Fort Benoorden Spaarndam
The "Fort benoorden Spaarndam (Fort north of Spaarndam)" was built in 1901 as part of the Stelling van Amsterdam (Defence Line of Amsterdam, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site).
The fort was mobilized both in 1914-1918 and in 1940. In 1918 a searchlight was built on the fort. During the German occupation in World War II, some constructions were added to the fort.
The fort is highly neglected and inaccessible.
