Military Cemetery Vredenhof

Vredehof Cemetery in the dunes of Schiermonnikoog is to bury people who drowned in the sea. The first one was buried in 1906 and the last in 1968.

Especially in both the World Wars lots of people of different nationalities were buried here, about 70 in the Second World War. In the Second World War Commonwealth casualties were buried by the Germans with military honour.
