Memorial Police Station Nijmegen

This memorial inside the Police station commemorates 4 policemen and 1 civilian who were members of the resistance and who were executed in the dunes at Overveen on 6 June 1944.

Their names were:
ALBERT MARCUSSE, Detective, born on 2 November 1903
HERMAN OOLBEKKINK, Detective, born on 27 September 1911
WIM BEERMAN, Police Photographer, born on 20 August 1909
BART HENDRIKS, Detective, born on 16 April 1915
CEES DE JONG, Merchant, born on 31 March 1905

In 1985/1986 a suburban area in Nijmegen East was named after four of the resistance men. In 2006 a fifth streetname was addes to that, Cees de Jong.
