Memorial Deceased Children City Hall Nijmegen

This monument, in the Town Hall, commemorates 24 children from the kindergarten of the Society of J.M.J., who died in the bombing on 22 February 1944.

This triptych was made on the occasion of the Bombing of 22 February 1944 on Nijmegen Jo Zuidgeest, in gratitude for the fact that his daughter Eveline Zuidgeest was not at school by sheer coincidence.

In the early 1990s, this triptych prompted Bart Janssen to write his standard work "De pijn die blijft" (2005) in which the good 800 victims were given a face with a photo and a short biography.
